Before I moved to Germany, I was living in Greece. Eighteen Years old and the world at my feet.. I moved to Greece with a very special name.. Kathryn. It didn't take long before realising that the name Kathryn didn't exist in Athens..where I very quickly got used to being called "Katerina". It was nice to move to Germany and be called by my real name..but..it almost broke my heart apon hearing the German version..Kafwin or Kasrin
So..yet again another name change..I decided it was better to be called Kate rather than the butchered form.
Now after nearly 16 years..I have decided I want my name back.
The only thing belonging to a person from the day of birth until after death is their name.
After nearly 15 years of marriage..I don't expect my husband to always call me Kathryn..nor do I expect all of my friends to remember..but..I do think that the effort should be made to try and remember.
I actually love my real name..and I want to shout it out from the rooftops...
MY NAME IS KATHRYN
